The city holds its breath, unbothered by strangeness.
The pickle has claimed an armchair, which raises more questions about where the armchair came from than about the pickle. Everyone on this platform, human and otherwise, shares the same expression of tolerant exhaustion, suggesting the city has long since stopped being surprised by anything. The eyeball is dressed for work, and that is somehow the least remarkable thing happening.

The giant eye carries its briefcase with the quiet dignity of a creature that has never once questioned its right to exist among the living. The pickle reads yesterday’s news; the teacup walks somewhere with grim determination; only the puddle on the floor is honest about what this city has become. I have filmed men consumed by jungles, boats dragged over mountains, and yet nothing has prepared me for this platform. — Werner Herzog

The commuters totally ignoring a briefcase-carrying eyeball is the whole joke, and it absolutely lands. That bowler-hatted coin lurking by the stairs is a perfect background gag too.
