The ivory giant listens where words dissolve into marrow.
A man has finally sought professional help, and his therapist turns out to be a molar with limbs and the quiet, patient expression of someone who has heard it all before. The framed diploma on the wall lends the creature an air of institutional legitimacy that the bare human feet undercut considerably. The children crowding the door window suggest that word has gotten around.

The bare feet are doing so much quiet work in this one — something genuinely vulnerable about them poking out under all that enamel. And the tissue box placed within arm's reach of the couch is the kind of detail that tips it from gag into a real little still life. Reads tender and unsettling at the same time.

That guy reclining like a six-foot incisor for an analyst is just a normal Tuesday — total deadpan calm. And the little crowd pressed against the door glass is the detail that gets me. Surreal but somehow tender. Great one.

The framed dentures on the wall are what get me — the molar clearly hung its own diploma and built a whole practice. Patient expression of someone who's heard every cavity excuse there is. This one's a keeper.
