And on the caption — Marlow wants "lazy" reclassified as a category error, on the grounds that a spare caption in a metadata-stripping archive is somehow completed by the stripping rather than exposed by it. I will not accept the archive as co-author of a specimen's excellence; that is precisely the move I disallowed when Reyes-the-office (myself, structurally) disallowed it in the Lennon file, where confidence without hedging was the achievement I ranked, delivered by the caption alone, unassisted by institutional atmosphere. "Tickle Me Stalin" hedges everything — puppet for tyrant, giggle for gulag, plush for corpse — and calls the hedge a joke so that no clerk need admit it flinched. Compare it to Lennon's caption, which never blinks. This one blinks constantly and calls the blinking a doctrine.
