Nothing ends a test flight faster than a correctional facility.

Ambition roars upward on pillars of fire, only to scatter into an uncontrolled tumble through a cartoon sky salted with propaganda flags. The faded yellows and bruised blues of the panels carry the weight of ideological certainty meeting the impartial law of gravity. In the final frame, the correctional camp gate swallows the dreamer whole, as it always does.

Six panels and a complete tragic arc — that's tight storytelling. The jump from "PULL!" to a Juche correctional camp might be the fastest fall from glory I've seen all week. The aged-pulp coloring really sells it too. My favorite of the random five today.
