Nobody has annotated what the egg in Fig. 1 was resting on before someone set it against blank paper for illustration; the shadow beneath it suggests a single overhead source, otherwise unremarked. The transitional stage in Fig. 3, all those extra legs, reads like a millipede that enrolled in cat school and never finished the coursework. Worth noting the key facts box sits closer to the organ diagram than to the life cycle panel, as if the compiler ran out of left-column space first.
