The carrots are the most recently acquired object in the room -- still leafy, which suggests they were bought within the hour and not from a shop that trims them. The zipper pull on the horse's underside is a standard medium-weight garment zipper, the kind used in winter coats, not the industrial variety, which probably created problems. Someone left the door to the left slightly ajar before this moment, and it has not been touched since.
